Meet Our Team
Angela Dunn, Business Administrator
Prior to expecting her and Dr. Dunn’s first child, you would see Angela doing everything from receptionist to verifying and filing insurance, glasses and contact lenses orders to dispensing and adjusting glasses, in addition to assisting patients with frame selection. Although these days her role is more of an administrative one, you may see her selecting frames for our dispensary or assisting patients with frame and lens choices during your visit. She is enjoying her job as Mommy to her and Dr. Dunn’s precious little guys, Jacob, who is 4, and Joshua, who is 1.
Amanda is our office manager and has been part of our eye care team since January 2006. She was born and raised in Racine, Wisconsin, and attended Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where she majored in media production. Amanda’s experience, knowledge of the eye care industry, and expertise in dealing with insurance is invaluable, and she strives to make your visit with us an exceptional one. We are excited to report that she has recently completed her Certified Paraoptometric Technician certification, the highest level with the American Optometric Association. In her spare time, she enjoys photography, movies, listening to 90’s music, and spending time with her new husband, Mike. Amanda also has a dream of being on Minute to Win It.
Abbey has been with us since 2007 and is our optometric technician. She pretests you for your eye exam, administers contact lens training sessions, and may also assist you with frame styling and adjustments in our dispensary. She has recently completed her Certified Paraoptometric Assistant certification with the AOA. Abbey’s father has been an optometrist for over 30 years, and working in her dad’s optometry practice in Savannah, TN, has given her the invaluable experience of delivering quality eye care to her patients with pride. Abbey obtained her Bachelor’s degree in art from UNA and is the talented artist responsible for the beautiful mural on our waiting room wall. She is an HGTV junkie and enjoys painting, attending church, being outdoors, and spending time with her husband, Zach, and dog, Alexis.
Emily is our receptionist and joined our team in 2008. We are very fortunate to have Emily as part of our family – she has been in the eye care industry since 2002 and has extensive experience not only as a receptionist but also with patient pretesting. She is the pleasant, friendly voice answering your call and is happy to assist you in thoroughly understanding your insurance benefits and answering any questions you may have regarding your visit with us. Emily recently completed her certification for Certified Paraoptometric with the AOA. She is currently working towards her Bachelor’s degree in fashion merchandising at MTSU and will complete her studies in 2010. In her spare time, she enjoys shopping, reading, being on the lake, and spending time with her husband, Mike, and dog, Penelope.
Ashley Vogel, B.S.-
Vision Therapist We are excited to welcome Ashley to our eye care family as our vision therapist. She comes to us with more than 10 years of professional experience working with children in various developmental and educational settings. Ashley graduated from The Ohio State University in 2008 with a B.S. in Psychology and spent the next year teaching English in a high school on the southern coast of Spain. She returned to Columbus, OH, for one more year where she worked as a preschool teacher before moving to Nashville to pursue a career in vision therapy. Her experience, obvious love of working with children, and desire to help them achieve their fullest potential will assure parents that their child will reach their vision therapy goals. In her spare time, she enjoys playing volleyball, rollerblading, listening to music, and learning to play the guitar.
Jacob & Joshua Dunn, Future Optometrists
Jacob joined our family July 2005 and has already been accepted to NSUCO’s 2027 Freshman Optometry Class! Joshua arrived in October 2008, and you may see him walking around our office or “helping” our staff pull patient charts during your visit.
