Insurance
The eye care industry can be very confusing when it comes to insurance benefits. Routine vision benefits, if you have them, are for yearly, routine eye exams and glasses or contact lenses. If your visit to our office is for medical reasons such as red eyes, allergies, injuries, or ocular diseases, then your medical plan becomes the insurance that is billed. Routine vision and medical benefits may or may not be on the same insurance plan. The chief complaint (the reason for your visit) is what determines which insurance benefits (medical or vision) are used. We want to make every effort to ensure that you are aware of what your insurance benefits are prior to your first visit with us.
We are currently a participating in-network provider for the following plans:
- VSP (Vision Service Plan)
- Blue Cross Blue Shield
- EyeMed
- Spectera
- VCP (Vision Care Plan ) / Comp Benefits
- Superior Vision
- UHC Vision
- Cigna Vision
- PHCS Vision
- Blue Cross Blue Shield **
- United HealthCare
- Cigna
- Humana
- Medicare
- PHCS / Multi-Plan
- Aetna
**We are currently out-of-network status with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee’s Network S plan for medical insurance claims. However, if you have a Network S policy and have routine vision benefits on your plan, we are in-network with the routine vision part of your plan and are able to file full benefits for you.
We are currently in the process of enrolling in other insurance plans. If you do not see your insurance company listed, contact us – we will be happy to verify your benefits for you.
