meet Dr. Dunn
In 2002, Dr. Daxx Dunn opened the doors of Family Vision Care of Cool Springs, a comprehensive pediatric and family eye care practice, still in it's original location. He graduated with his bachelor's degree in biological sciences from Southern Arkansas University in 1997, followed by a doctorate degree in optometry from Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry in 2001. After graduation, he and his wife, Angela, moved to Franklin, TN, where they started Family Vision Care.
During his time at NSUOCO, Dr. Dunn received the Award for Clinical Excellence and served as 4th year class president. He was a committee member for NSUOCO's Dean's Council in addition to the Executive Council. Dr. Dunn also served as an adjunct faculty member with NSUOCO's Rural Health Clinics following graduation.
Dr. Dunn has been voted the number one choice for eye care by Williamson County parents 15 times. His sense of humor, ability to make patients feel at ease, referrals from pediatricians, and rapport with children has established him as the "kids' eye doc" of the Franklin and Cool Springs area. In addition to pediatric and primary eye care, he enjoys treating ocular disease and welcomes patients of all ages.
Dr. Dunn is proud to be a member of the following societies:
- Tennessee Board of Optometry
- American Optometric Association
- Tennessee Optometric Association
- Middle Tennessee Optometric Society
"Daxx and his team have been caring for my family for many years. He's thorough and proactive in taking care of us. I couldn't recommend them more!"
"This group of medical professionals offer a friendly atmosphere incorporated with a high degree of professionalism. I have been a patient of Dr. Dunn's for years, and with unusual eye conditions, I feel so thankful that he is my doctor, offering expansive knowledge in this field. My daughter also uses this clinic. As a child with severe headaches, we had seen many specialists, none of whom were able to help her. When she went to this clinic, they determined during a routine eye exam the condition she had, and finally after almost 20 years have been able to rectify the situation. The professionalism, knowledge, care, and compassion for their patients is superb."
"We love Family Vision Care. Dr. Dunn and Dr. Weldon are wonderful. They fixed my daughter’s vision concerns and are just the kindest people. Their staff are also all very hospitable! Punctual appointments. Patient focused. Amazing practice!"
"Most caring group of people. Dr. Daxx is very thorough and takes time to really get to know his patients. You just don't find that too much anymore."
"The staff are all very helpful and courteous. The facility is clean and comfortable. Wait time is minimal. Drs. Dunn and Weldon are highly capable, thorough and personable. They don't hurry through exams; they readily listen, explain, answer questions and offer treatment options."
